About the Candidate

A teacher, peacebuilder and senator for the people

Born on 2 October 1976 in Nabordo Village, Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State, Senator Shehu Buba Umar rose from the classroom to the National Assembly through service, integrity and a deep commitment to his people.

He began his career as a classroom teacher before serving as Senior Special Assistant to former Bauchi State Governor Malam Isa Yuguda, and later as Special Adviser to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. Today he represents the Bauchi South Senatorial District in the 10th Senate, where he chairs the Senate Committee on National Security and Intelligence.

A trained peacebuilder, he has led farmer–herder conflict-resolution efforts at both state and federal level — experience that now shapes his vision for a secure and united Bauchi.
